Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
What is seabuckthorn berry oil?
A:
Seabuckthorn is a wild bush growing in arid areas or in the
Gobi desert. It absorbs
and preserves all of the nutrients in the berry to survive in poor land and weather.
It is native to Europe and Asia and has been known and used by
humans for centuries. In ancient Greece, seabuckthorn was
known as a remedy for horses. Leaves and young branches were
added to the fodder. This resulted in rapid weight gain and a
shiny coat for the horse. The medicinal value of sea-buckthorn
was recorded in the Tibetan medical classic"rGyud Bzi" in
the eight century. There are many stories expounding the
wonderful properties of sea-buckthorn as an invigorating and
nutritious product. Based on this folklore as well as
scientific research, sea-buckthorn has become an important medicinal
and nutritional product, especially in Russia and China. According
to Russian and Chinese scientistis, seabuckthorn contains 190
bio-active components, of which 106 are in the oil. The oil is the
best single source known to man for Vitamin E, Vitamin C,
beta-carotene, unsaturated fatty acids, essential amino acids and
flavonoids. Seabuckthorn
berry oil can be obtained from dried berry or fresh berry.
Rich Nature Seabuckthorn Berry Oil is processed from fresh
berry (berry juice and meat). Due

Beta-carotene is the most active form of
pro-vitamin A. Vitamin A is primarily involved with vision and
immune system. When vitamin A levels are low, poor adaptation to changes in
light and poor vision at night will occur.
Beta-carotene also exerts significant antioxidant
activity compared to that of vitamin A.
The antioxidant activity of carotenes is probably the factor
responsible for the anticancer and anti-aging effects noted in some
studies. Carotenoid content of tissue is the most significant factor
in determining maximal life span potential of mammalian species.
Beta-carotene has received the most attention for it
generates Vitamin A much more efficiently than other carotenes1.
Other nutrients contained in Seabuckthorn berry oil are:
natural vitamin E, vitamin C, amino acids, essential fatty acids,
and flavones.
Q: What is the difference between
Seabuckthorn seed oil and Seabuckthorn berry oil?
