Rich NatureÔ Nutraceutical Laboratories, Inc., was founded in 1998, on the principle and the concept of Food Treatment and Food Tonic. Rich Nature has established its business to identify, develop, and commercialize food based therapeutic compounds for US and western health product consumers. In order to make this business successful, Rich Nature has established a strong network in China of TCM masters/ herbalist, researchers, universities, and government ministries. Through this network, Rich Nature has discovered more than two hundreds of foods with thousands of novel components that can be taken as powerful functional foods to treat different health problems and as tonic products. These identified candidate products show a high probability for successful commercialization but also safety and effectiveness.

China has 5000 years of history using medicinal plants. Chinese herbalists and scientists understand how herbs work in the human body, effectively and safely. Language and culture, however, often makes it difficult for western people to share this 5000 year “treasure”.   With the help of Dr. Cui Yueli, former Minister of Health of China and Senior Adviser to Rich Nature, we have established an extensive research and development team composed of top scientists at the National Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and National Academy of Preventive Medicine in Beijing, China.  The company has established an exclusive worldwide distribution agreement with the Cui Yueli Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Research Center.  This research center has a network of over 700 famous Chinese TCM doctors and herbalists providing tremendous product expertise for marketing existing and developing unique food and herbal products, conducting pre-clinical studies and clinical trials, collecting and updating research data in China and in the US.

 

The Company Story

Rich Nature founders and principals have unparalleled credentials in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) business in both China and the US.  They have sound knowledge of TCM and a great passion to promote TCM. 

Ms. Xiaoping Zhang, MD, co-founder and Vice President of Research & Development of Rich Nature, was an Internal Medical Doctor in Beijing for many years and learned TCM from a TCM master. Her father, Dr. Cui Yueli, former Chinese Minister of Health and Senior Adviser to Rich Nature (passed away in 1998), dedicated his life to the heritage and development of TCM, and was committed to spread the message globally even during the years when TCM was neglected.

During Dr. Cui’s term as Minister of Health, he obtained and invested hundreds of millions of Chinese dollars to promote scientific research on Chinese medicine and urged these doctors to learn from their medical counterparts from other countries.  His ultimate wish was to inherit and develop Chinese herbal medicine in an systemic and scientific way, so that Chinese medicine could best serve people around the world.   Both his vision and his work made him the most respected leader in TCM industries across the country. 

In 1996, Dr. Yueli shared his vision with Richard Zhang and Dr. Xiaoping Zhang.  He told them that Chinese traditional medicine, with its history and tradition, was a " big treasure" that should be "shared worldwide through the marriage of East and West".  His challenge to them was to continue to fulfill this vision.   That challenge led to the creation of Rich Nature Nutraceutical Laboratory, a company based on blending the best of East and West through sharing the TCM experience and expertise with the rest of the world.
